Creating
a better world for children...
Our Mission
Create a better world for children by improving human life, continuing indigenous
cultures, and protecting fragile environments.
Projects
Every project supported by the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation is directly
related to one of the three Foundation objectives: to improve human life, continue
indigenous cultures and protect fragile environments. Over the years, the Foundation
has created a better world for children by supporting projects in Asia, North
America, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Africa, Europe and Australia.

Giving
The Foundation is supported by generous donations from stockholders, employees
and distributors, a percentage of product sales and a fundraising dinner and
auction that takes place every 18 months. Together, we are creating a better
world for children.
Funding decisions for the Foundation are made by a committee comprised of
a cross section of Nu Skin Enterprises officers and employees. Each project is
thoroughly researched and the needs of the children and community which the project
will affect are taken into consideration.
Your help is needed to both locate worthy projects the Foundation can support,
and to supply these projects with the necessary funding.
Donations like those from the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation "make
a life and death difference" to many children in Thailand, said Pirapat
Mokarapong, MD, Secretary-General of the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation.
About Us: The Nu Skin Force
for Good Foundation
Nu Skin Enterprises' spirit of long-term social responsibility led to the creation
of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation-a nonprofit organization whose mission
is to create a better world for children by improving human life, continuing
indigenous cultures, and protecting fragile environments.
The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation was established in 1996 under the direction
of the board of directors of Nu Skin Enterprises. Nu Skin Enterprises and its
divisions-Nu Skin, Pharmanex and Big Planet-were built on the hard work, commitment
and passion of its distributors and representatives. These people are also the
lifeblood of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation.
Nu Skin Enterprises employs thousands of people throughout the world, and
in each market employees are encouraged to support projects in their communities.
Corporate employees and company distributors also make monetary contributions
to the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation. Additionally, they work together on
many projects throughout the year, including gathering and wrapping Christmas
gifts for needy families, serving as mentors to young schoolchildren and donating
food to homeless shelters, among other things.
Nu Skin Enterprises provides for all overhead and administrative costs of
the Foundation, ensuring that all donations go directly to those receiving aid.
The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation is based in Provo, Utah and is a registered
501(C)(3) non-profit organization in the United States.
History
In 1993, the phrase "force for good" was coined in a speech given by
Nu Skin Enterprises' Chairman Blake Roney at the company's international convention
in Salt Lake City. He envisioned the company becoming a force for good throughout
the world. That wish has been realized in many ways. As declared in its mission
statement, Nu Skin Enterprises is a force for good as it empowers people to improve
[their] lives with rewarding business opportunities, innovative products, and
an enriching and uplifting culture. In addition, Nu Skin Enterprises is a force
for good when its collective talents and resources are shared with less fortunate
people of the world.
At about the same time that Blake Roney made his force for good speech, the
company's marketing department became acquainted with a world renowned ethnobotanist,
Dr. Paul Cox, and his research. The company incorporated Dr. Cox's research into
a line of products called Epoch and made arrangements for a portion of the sales
of each Epoch product to be returned to the indigenous people from whom Dr. Cox
derived ingredients and formulations. That cause-marketing arrangement was called
the Force for Good Campaign. It is still in place today and has become one of
the primary sources of the company's philanthropy.
Very soon after the establishment of the Force for Good Campaign, the funds
from the sales of Epoch products were significant enough that it became necessary
to create a separate procedure for handling those funds.
So, in 1996 Nu Skin Enterprises organized the Force for Good Foundation. The
Foundation's administration and operational expenses are paid for by Nu Skin
Enterprises, and company employees donate their time to see that things get done.
But, otherwise, the Foundation is a non-profit organization completely independent
of Nu Skin Enterprises' which supports humanitarian organizations and charities
around the world, including two with which the Foundation has an ongoing relationship:
the Seacology Foundation and the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.
When the Force for Good Foundation made donations and grants over the years
it was not always obvious to people outside the Nu Skin family that there was
a relationship between the Foundation and Nu Skin Enterprises. So, in 2002, the
Foundation's name was changed to the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation.
