San Jose Nights has been designed to be a family friendly event celebrating classic
car Show–n- Shines with four live bands featuring old time music, Drive-In
movies, a classic car auction by the famous Kruse Auctions, a Thursday night
Gala, a swap meet, car corral, awards, and
cruising down the road with your friends to some famous local car museums. The
Blackhawk Museum, Canepa Design, and the late Jacques Littlefield’s Military
Tank museum are just 3 of the cruise destinations offered. The cruises were designed
to head out North, South, East, and West and to be about a 45 minute drive from
downtown to each destination.
The central hub of all of the action will be the
San Jose Convention Center’s
South Hall. The Light Rail System allows easy access for the general public to
come down and view over 1000 classic cars that will have come from all over the
west coast and will be on display. The cars will be on display in the parking
lots at Woz Way & Almaden, Woz Way & 87,
the huge lot of the
South Hall, Balbach Ave, and the lot that is between First Street, Second Street, & San
Carlos.
The Registered Participants will start setting up their cars
at 6am on Saturday. Mike Hennessy has worked hard to make this a family friendly
event and encourages the use of the city’s Light Rail System which will
take all spectators to within easy walking distance of the South Hall and the
Show –n- Shine areas. The general public will be able
to view the cars in
Show –n- Shine lots for no charge. Hot San Jose Nights will feature a downtown
walk that will cover the Hot Spots of San Jose to incorporate local businesses,
hotels, bars, and restaurants.
Judging by the overwhelming response of the large
community of local classic car owners, this seems to be just the type of event
that they are looking for in their own backyards.
