Assisant Civil Engineer I
Groundwater Management Unit
DUTIES:
Working under the direction of senior staff, this position will perform a variety
of professional civil engineering duties in the area of groundwater management.
This position will assist in: collecting and analyzing various data to assess
the quantity or quality of groundwater resources; the preparation of groundwater
studies and reports; analyzing projects proposed by other agencies for potential
groundwater impacts; evaluating groundwater management objectives and alternatives;
and the planning, design, and construction of groundwater management facilities
including wells and recharge ponds. Employee is responsible for ensuring high
work quality and adherence to professional codes, standards and District specifications
and for performing a variety of professional tasks relative to assigned area
of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
OR possession of a valid California Engineer-In-Training Certificate with two
years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Registered positions within this classification must possess registration as
a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California. Possession of a valid
California driver’s license is required. Prior to appointment, candidates
will be required to successfully pass a medical examination.
SALARY:
$6,012.93 - $7,325.07 per month (Registered)—Based on a five-step salary
plan
$5,865.60 - $7,146.53 per month (Unregistered) —Based on a five-step salary
plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution
of 7.407%
