Senior Water Conservation
Specialist
Water Use Efficiency Unit
DUTIES:
To lead, oversee, and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff
responsible for performing a broad range of professional scientific, work related
to water conservation programs; to provide highly responsible and complex staff
assistance to the Water Use Efficiency Unit Manager; and to perform a variety
of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible water conservation experience
equivalent to the Water Conservation Specialist II level (or a total of 5 years
of experience) and Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university with major course work in natural or physical
sciences, geology, environmental science or a related field. Directly related
experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one
and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four
years.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required. Prior to
appointment, candidates will be required to successfully pass a medical examination.
SALARY:
$6,815.47 - $8,304.40 per month—Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution
of 7.407%

SELECTION PROCESS:
1. The District Employment Application, Supplemental Questions, and any other
required documents (resume recommended) will be evaluated for minimum qualifications.
2. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application
package appraisal assessment. The assessment score will be weighted 100% in determining
the candidate’s ranking on the qualified list.
3. Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited
to interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.

used to fill future vacancies. Position and start date is subject to availability
