Administrative Assistant

DUTIES:
To perform a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative, secretarial
and clerical duties in support of an assigned Unit; to relieve higher level supervisory
and management staff of administrative detail; and to provide information and
assistance to the public regarding departmental policies and procedures.
Some Duties Include:
1) Manage individual calendars for 7 Board members and 3 master calendars, including
activities, meetings, and various internal and external events.
2) Coordinate, review, edit, and deliver to Directors support materials for meetings
and speaking engagements such as storyboards, background and briefing materials,
and talking points.
3) Maintain daily internal and external communications with high-level executives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible secretarial or office administration
experience and Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented
by specialized training in administrative or secretarial work or a related field.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
A net typing speed of 50 net wpm is required and an original typing certificate
along with the corresponding original typing test must be submitted with the
application documents (typing test must have been taken within the past 30 days
from one of the following testing agencies). To make an appointment for a typing

is required. Prior to appointment, candidates will be required to successfully

SALARY:
$4,605.47 - $5,610.80 per month - Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution
of 7.407%

SELECTION PROCESS:

2. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application
package appraisal assessment. The assessment score will be weighted 100% in determining
the candidate’s ranking on the qualified list.
3. Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited
to interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.
