Real Estate Services Unit
DUTIES:
To lead, oversee and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff
responsible for the acquisition, appraisal and management of District properties;
to oversee the relocation of displaced tenants, homeowners and businesses; complete
performance measure and other reports, and to provide professional assistance
on a variety of real estate programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible real property acquisition
or management experience, three years of which must be public sector real estate
experience and Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university with major course work in real estate, business administration,
or a related field. Directly related experience may be substituted for the college
requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year
of education to a maximum of four years.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid senior designation
of the International Right of Way Association during the probationary period;
valid California driver’s license is required; a California Department
of Real Estate salesperson’s or broker’s license is desirable.
SALARY:
$7,359.73 - $8,968.27 per month - Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution
of 7.407%

SELECTION PROCESS:
1. The District Employment Application, Supplemental Questions, and any other
required documents (resume recommended) will be evaluated for minimum qualifications.
2. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application
package appraisal assessment. The assessment score will be weighted 100% in determining
the candidate’s ranking on the qualified list.
3. Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited
to interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.
NOTE: A qualified list may result from this examination process and may be
used to fill future vacancies. Position and start date is subject to availability
of funds. The District retains the right to repost this position as deemed necessary.
